Thad H Austin is a life-long self trained painter. He lives and paints from his home in San Francisco, California.

Statement

Painting is my passion, not my career. As a full-time public educator, I have continued to practice painting from home over the last 50 years as an enthusiast. I hope you enjoy what I have shared within. 

Biography

Thad Austin was born and raised in the small coastal farming town of Watsonville, California. At 21 Thad moved to San Francisco to continue his interest in the arts and education, studying cinema and fine arts at San Francisco State University and earning a degree in Cinema and a credential/MA in mathematics education. He has taught primary and secondary education in SFUSD since 1987 while also continuing to study painting from home. Thad primarily paints in watercolor and guache, but has also worked in acrylics on canvas.
